Version 1.0.0

Made for
Stacks 2
How do you do?
Another Menu Plus
- made with Blueball FreeStack in mind.

The FreeStack theme and stacks works with horizontal menus. With a little tweak (see right column) you'll be able to use the FreeStack with vertical menus too.

Henk Wrieselar's blow-up theme allows you to hide the internal menu - and use the A-Menu.

Another used to be two menus - now merged to one with all features… and a little extra.

Instead of using RW5's Resources to import images - the A-Menu now uses Stacks 2's Info Pane to import images.

This has one major advantage! It allows you to use PlusKit to @import the menu to other pages!

The tweak
RapidWeaver's menu-system

The A-menu relies on RapidWeaver's build-in menu system. As a theme developer you can choose either a drop-down menu or a fold in/out menu.

As default a theme like BlueBalls great FreeStack theme supports only drop down.

So… to make the theme work with a fold in/out menu system you have to tweak the theme. How to tweak your theme - choose 'How to' in the menu below.

This theme - the H Q theme by Nick Cates Design has been applied the tweak. You can do it with almost any theme...

If you don't tweak the theme
- the menu will work without fold in/out and show all pages and subpages. For smaller websites this actually might be an advantage…
How to tweake the theme
HOW TO
  1. Dublicate the theme [+]
    1. Dublicate the BB Freestack theme (important).

The BB FS (Blueball Freestack) theme won't work with both menu types (drop downs and fold-in-out menus) at the same time:

Hold down crtl when you click at the theme.
    Choose duplicate.

    1dublicate

Have you duplicated the BB FS Theme? Good!
    • Now you have two Freestack themes.
    • We will be working on the duplicate (NOT the original).
  2. Find the heart of the theme... [+]
Find the Theme.plist (the heart of the theme)

The reason why we duplicated the theme… is to create a BB FS theme with the new type of menu.
    • The original theme for drop-down menus and
    • The 'new' theme (duplicate) for fold-out/fond-in menus.

    findtheplist

  3. Dive into theme's plist [+]
Take a deep breath… ready to dive?

Open the plist (you are working on a copy, right?) - almost any word processor will do.

    Search for 'RWAlsaysDisplayFullNavigation
Change the word 'true' to 'false'.

Don't change anything else (!) If you do the theme won't work.
Changing the theme is at your own risk (only change the duplicate theme - NOT the original).

This is how it looks before the change:

    plistchange

This is how it should look now:

    plistchange2
  4. Remember the 3 rules! [+]

#1 do not make changes to your original theme - only make changes to the duplicate theme!

#2 do not make changes to your original theme - only make changes to the duplicate theme!

#3 do not make changes to your original theme - only make changes to the duplicate theme!
